Darley Dale Band

Latest News

We are very pleased to say that the band began rehearsing again on Monday 6th September at South Darley Village Hall.  Welcome back!  If you are a brass player, frustrated by the long lock-down, come along and have a blow.   Directions are on the “Join Us” page.

We are delighted that Darley Dale Town Council has awarded to Keith Sheldon a Lifetime Achievement Award for his continuous support of Darley Dale Band over 72 years!

Early in 2020 the band was delighted to announce that Chris Fower  had accepted the position of Musical Director in succession to Roger Jepson. Unfortunately he did not have an opportunity to conduct a concert before lock-down. Chris brings a wealth of experience in performing (Grimethorpe Colliery Band, Michael Nyman Band etc.) and teaching and we very much look forward to working with him.

COVID-19 has prevented the band rehearsing from March 2020 until September 2021 and, even more than usual, we look forward to seeing you whenever the band is able to give concerts again.

Below is what might have been during 2020 and the summer of 2021.   Watch this page for our future engagements.
